Anne Steen is a printmaker, photographer, and graphic designer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She holds an art degree from the University of Missouri and works in marketing at the University of New Mexico Press.
Anne began exploring printmaking at Remarque Print Workshop, first experimenting with milk-carton etching and later with photopolymer. After being introduced to screen printing, she found the medium that truly captured her imagination.
Most of Anne’s prints begin as photographs of landscapes and the natural world. Through screen printing, she transforms these images into bold, layered interpretations of the places and details that catch her eye.
Anne is also passionate about building community through printmaking. In collaboration with Santa Fe artist Tim Jag, she helps organize the Printers Planet Festival, an annual print market in Santa Fe, along with pop-up events around New Mexico.
She also hosts Screen Print Social Hours, informal gatherings that bring people together to make art, meet new friends, and try screen printing in a welcoming, no-pressure setting.
